Where the Red Fern Grows

During chapter 6, Billy finally shows up at home.  His father isn't that upset with him.  I was expecting him to be in big trouble and maybe be grounded or something worse.  What do you think of his parents reaction?  Did you think their reaction was different from what you thought?  Post your comments on the chapter.

    I thought that Billy was going to be in big trouble because his mom and dad didn't know where he was. I think that his parents thought it was very genorous of him to buy his family that stuff.

    I kind of thought that his mom and dad would be mad. I can't believe they weren't that mad at him because he didn't tell them anything at all, where he was going, what he was doing, or when.

    I thught that his mom would be really worded because she did not know where he was but his dad did.I really thught that his dad would be wourd but then he knew.That he was going to get the dogs because his grandpa told him where he was going.

    I thought that that that his mom and dad were going to ground him for escaping.Billy got lucky that he didn't got in trouble.
