Chapter 11

In chapter 11, Billy is describing a scene in which his dog has fallen into the icy river.  He is describing the scene as it unfolds.  We left off and his last thought was his dog was going to fall in and die and he couldn't do anything to save her.  With you best ideas,  I want you to describe how you would feel if you were Billy.  What would be going through your mind as this was happening?  What would you do?  YOUR BEST IDEAS!!!  MAKE CONNECTIONS!!!

    If I were Billy I would fell exactly the same as he did. I was really scared when
    I first heard this part of the story. If the water wasn't so cold I would jump in and little Ann.

      I really hope little Ann gets out of the water alive. I think this is a good book choice

    I thought that Littlle Ann wasn't going to make it. If I were Billy I would go and get some really long sticks and some string to tie the sticks together. Then I would find a flat surface and take that and tie it to the sticks. After that I would take the sticks and slowly ease the surface under Little Ann so she could stand on it. Then I would ease the sticks back out of the water.

    I would be terrifed. I would try not to think about her falling in and try to think of a way to get out. I could not watch her fall in and die because any time I would go near that river or saw a hunting dog I would think of her.

      I like the connection you are making! I wouldn't be able to look at other dogs the same way or the river! It's all I would think about!

      I would go on my belly and slied to her. If I fall in I would make a path of water in the river.

    If I were billy i would dive right in and grab the dog and hang on to a tree branch.I would be scared,but at least I would save my dog.
